AGA ACQUIRES HYDROGAS-MESSER'S INDUSTRIAL GASES OPERATIONS IN SWEDEN

AGA has acquired the Industrial Gases operations from Hydrogas-Messer AB,
Sweden, a jointly owned company by Hydrogas and Messer-Griesheim. The
Competition Authorities approved the acquisition on April 5, 2000.

The agreement implies that the plant in Köping, for production and
cylinder filling of gases, is taken over by AGA. The main part of the
employees, 15 persons, will be offered employment at AGA.

Hydrogas-Messer also has carbon dioxide operations in Sweden, which are
not affected.
