Over 100 of the North West's key businesspeople gathered at the Manchester City Stadium today to get the lowdown on Microsoft's new Windows 7 operating system. The event, organised by SCC, the leading technology specialists, brought together senior representatives from a cross section of SMEs and larger organisations, spanning the public and private sectors. Attendees discussed the universal business benefits of upgrading to the long awaited software update.

Steve Crompton, who manages SCC’s business in the North West, said:
“SCC has held similar events up and down the country, and the interest from customers has been consistently phenomenal; while in the North West take up has been exceptional. We know that some 95% of businesses are currently using the legacy XP desktop operating software and that's over eight years old now. Today's amazing turnout proves our region’s business community, irrespective of its size or sector, is determined to be at the leading-edge of technology developments. It also shows the North West is committed to maintaining its reputation as one of Britain's most forward-thinking local economies."
