(April 27th, 2011) Admire Entertainment Inc., a women-owned and operated talent agency/speaker’s bureau, represents cutting-edge entertainers and lecturers that focus on social, multicultural, financial, and health issues facing many Americans today, including bullying, racism, anti-Semitism censorship, financial debt and substance abuse. They have become the “go to” agency for colleges and corporations looking to creatively enhance diversity initiatives.
Barbara Meyer, a former New Line Cinema agent, started the company 28-years ago with just one client, Playfair, a team-building college orientation program celebrating diversity in an atmosphere of non-competitive play.
“We were very fortunate to get Playfair as our first client because it guaranteed the company a substantial amount of bookings per year,” said Meyer.
“This allowed me to add a former female colleague to work with me and we secured filmmaker, John Waters to our client roster. Waters presents a one-man show on diversity and pop culture.
Over the years, she has added several additional female staff members, including Linda Sherman in 1991, who helped develop and expand the comedy division.
