Interim report January – September 2003

Karlshamns acquires technical oils from Aarhus Olie

Karlshamns subsidiary Binol AB and Aarhus Olie have reached an agreement to the effect that Karlshamns acquires Aarhus Olie’s operations in the technical oils segment. The take-over is expected to come into effect as of 1 May 2003.

The acquisition strengthens Binol’s position as world leader within vegetable oils for technical applications.

Karlshamns takes actions to improve conditions for palm oil production

Today, 13 January 2003, the Swedish Television broadcasts a programme titled “Maten som skövlar”. Among other things, the programme shows how the growing production of soybean and palm oil in Brazil and South East Asia is laying claim on valuable natural environments. On account of the information made public by the programme, Karlshamns finds it important to clarify its position on this issue.
